  • composite siding?

I'd like to use a composite material for the siding of my shed. Something I can use in a board and batton configuration.. any suggestions? I see a lot of composite decking materials, but not siding, is there a reason for that?

For siding, I don't think there is an alternative that is as cost effective and low maintenance as vinyl siding, though I'm not sure if it's available in a form that will create your desired look. Composite decking itself isn't all that it's cracked up to be according to an online Q/A I found. It is a bit dated though so maybe the manufacture quality has improved since then.

If longevity is what you're after then I would consider something like Hardiplank...

I don't think you can do board and batten with it but they do offer a vertical siding (see link above)
