  • Set deck nails with 3.5 in Palm Nailer?

I need to sand my outdoor deck, and have to set lots of nails below the surface to do this. Will the 3.5" Palm nailer work for this (i.e., do not insert a nail but set the nailer over the existing nails to set them)?

I would say that yes that could possibly work

Give it a shot, nothing to lose...

If you don't get the depth you need then I would use a nail set, drift or punch to manually set them below the surface.

Hmmm...I would use a punch as mentioned. The palm nailer might leave too many marks on your deck...those things bounce around when they get going.

Appreciate the advice. I will turn to the hammer, set and knee pads to get it done.
