What do you guys use? I'm currently playing with Microsoft Projects. For those that don't use any software, how do you plan your projects?

MS-Project is OK and should cover you for most stuff you will run into,
but the standard through the industry is P3

Were you not using P3 at your other job? :-)
Ask one of the EAs. They should have access
to a copy to show you.

It's big bucks though, about $3K for a single copy.
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
    John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

We used this crazy system called CBCM-only for seabees. CBCM's contract is running out so they're switching it to Projects. One thing CBCM did better than what I see Projects doing is ease of use. CBCM was designed so a 20 year old kid could manage a project. Projects has so many options that you could easily get in trouble with it. I'm not worried about the price. The government gets charged 20 when they buy Microsoft projects.
