  • Need to grind a concrete floor

    Hi all,

I just bought an old house (built in 53). It's a one story built on a cement slab. I have three high spots all about 8-12 SF and pretty round in diameter. they stick up about 1/2 inch or so. I was thinking about going to Ahern or Home Depot and renting a dustless grinder. Is there any other way to do this? Can I use a 4 1/2 inch grinder with a cement grinding blade? Is it just too small for the job?
I would rather buy something then rent it if it's not to $$$...
    Any input would be great!
    Thanks.

I used to work with a flipper
Rarely are you going to run into this again unless you are buying cracked slabs.

Dewalt 2847 full size with the diamond wheel.
I might go over it first with a demo hammer for a 1/2" then use a self leveling hydraulic cement after knocking down the peaks.

    Depends on what's going down.

I got a decorative concrete company that can provide a concrete surfacing machine. It would take care of your sitch in a matter of minutes with virtually no dust.
