As far as the color goes. We made a made a few aesthetic changes to the product since its launch. The camera head and LED adjustment wheels are now black, and the Ridgid label has changed a bit.

When you have a method of capturing video either through a simple video out jack or an internal save to flash drive or memory stick option I think I can talk some people into buying a few of these.

I think it was Mark who said he had taken a photo of the screen display and while that may work it won't sell where I am at.

You are right Dan, the price will certaintly go up. As All Clear said it would not be hard to pick up the video to the display but then you are voiding the warranty by modifing the circuit. The video out jack would add very little to the production costs and easy to engineer. If the cost went up more than a dollar or two I'd be surprised. The price of the unit would certaintly go up $25, but would still be worth it to me.

            Re: Micro Seesnake

For the last few weeks I have been trying to take pictures of the screen while working with it. I have to turn the flash off and set it to Macro. It is very difficult to get a decent picture. However, Ridgid has sold 6-more micros just from people watch me.

To me the Micro is more of a DIY quality tool. I would be excited to see what Ridgid could offer in a $1,000 micro

The Micro that broke on me had the black head. I am not really sure what caused it to snap-off because I found the head separated from the cable when I opened the case to use it. All I can think of is that the stress from coiling the cable when I put it away the time before was enough to crack the thin plastic at that connection.

To answer your questinon regarding red versus black, the black head is also very fragile, brittle plastic.

i just picked one up and i think it will come in handy for a lot of things
but i to do not like the soft case it came in . the unit sits in foam but there is no foam to protect the cable if some thing was to fall on the top of the case . I'm sure the people at ridgid can come up with a better case to protect our investment of over $ 200.oo .

other then that i like it

I'm not sure but when we combine this post with the "boy toy" post I am starting to worry a little about Rick. Next thing you know he'll be wanting to swing a penny around on the point of a hanger end and we all know what that means (wink-wink).
