    Re: sewer cameras

I just got my camera w/ vhs and want to add a dvd burner or hard drive.

I'm curious to know how the options in this thread worked out for you.

    What's best?

    DVD burner?

    Hard drive?

    New recommendations?

I'm looking at the sony dvdirect currently.

    Thanks for any new information.

I know, it doesn't make sense.

that's what i've had for over a year now. works great for both video in and media cards to dvd or dvd slide show.

pretty inexpensive ($150-199)and has a preview screen.

        Re: sewer cameras

I purchased the Vosonic VP 8860 and it is great.
I spent about six months looking at the options and decided that I would give it a go.
It goes well with the Ridgid toolbox monitor as you don't need power. The self contained battery lasts well and the unit also came with a spare battery.
The unit also has a preview screen and is very portable.
I record onto the Vosonic and then download it onto my laptop and because it is Mp4 format you can just take snapshots out to email the highlights or problems to a client.
I can get the file and make a DVD out of it and send it to the client.

I was a bit worried about the resolution but was suprised when I down loaded the copy of a drain I had recorded from the Visonic onto my computer and found I could increase the size on my computer screen from quarter screen, to half screen or full screen and still have great clarity and this is where I will be viewing it for future referance as my client already has the DVD copy, and the other great thing about the Visonic is when it is connected to my computer it comes up as an extra extrenal hard drive.
