Well... its been well over a year since the SeeSnake micro inspection camera ha launched. So what have you used yours for so far... heres my personal list.

    Legitimate non playing around uses.
    - finding break in car wiper linkage at bottom of windshield

    - fishing wires through a wall cavity
    - insulation inspection from attic.

    legitimate non-playing around uses only?

checked top of solder joint on heat line in ceiling
confirmed heat line was jammed tight against joist causing a ticking sound
checked heat exchanger on boiler for soot buildup...filthy!
confirmed mouse living in ceiling from all the droppings
found old pair of channelocks in wall
found magnet on Micro not strong enough to lift channelocks
checked pressure on boiler gauge jammed tight to wall

all of this before 2 pm today

I always take a peak inside wall stub-outs if they are not a straight shot on sink clogs. (I found an old cable once)

Used it to fish my flatscreen wires through the wall.

The magnet will pick up a craftsmen 1/4 socket wrench and socket when they fall into a floor furnace.

Peek down into washing machine traps ( the hook has pulled more then one lint ball)

      Heat exchanger inspections

I have been told that certain asian adult film producers are doing some pretty interesting things with them, Though I have no proof to that effect

Pulled numerous wires for medicine cabinets
        Pulled thermostat wires
Retrieved my 2" hole saw bit from beneath the kickplate on a kitchen cabinet (The magnet is pretty powerful for its size). Left my magnet on the same job and never went back the 50 miles to get it.
Lost my hook in a wall pulling a thermostat wire, didn't have the magnet to retrieve it.
Seems the mirror is pretty much useless.

looked in a lot of air ducks to see if dampers are open

drilled hole in block wall to see if I beam was on other side

used it to read info on motor

looked under back deck to see what was driving dogs crazy

looked over a wall to see if my helpers were working

looked in side a 6" sec 80 pipe to see if if the helper was right about the joint being in all the way [ it was not ]

and the one i use it for the most
look in Rosie's ears to see if we got them clean [ bad ear infection ]

Re: SeeSnake micro uses - list yours

            I've used one to:

            - find a clogged airconditioning condensation drain in my car
            - Inspect my heat exchangers, which actually looked pretty good for a 20 year old furnace
            - Determined which dampers controlled which rooms in my ductwork
            - Look behind my walls to see that I don't have enough insulation

Keep the posts coming. Its great to see what you guys are using these for.

I preformed an emergency appendectomy on myself with it. Used it to prove the existance of black holes. Got oil prices below $1.70 with it's help. Saved the world from nuclear destruction because I had it at my convienence. All this and so much more I've used it for, but I would trade all of that just to have it go through a toilet trap

We used the micro to perform weld inspections in hard to reach areas.
Also to do cleanliness checks inside of pipe after removing thermowells.

Around the house used it to find and follow intercom and alarm wires in wall cavities and to look inside ductwork.
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."

I have used my micros to:

Identify and photograph concealed pipes in the wall.

Inspect and photograph below jetted tubs which had improper access.

Verify placement of anti-tip brackets on ranges.

Inspect and photograph the interior of 3/4" water lines.

                    Inspect and photograph heat exchangers.

Inspect and photograph inside duct work.

Locate and photograph leak under dishwasher without pulling the kick.

Inspect and photograph leaks at the foot of the tub from an opening at the head of the tub.

I'm sure there are more I have done but that gives you an idea. In addition:

I sent one with Larry to the steam plant where he inspected pump interiors.

My son Jared found a bunch of drugs under a truck with a micro I gave him.

My son Jon was using his for verifying VIN numbers and once to locate bullets from a drive by which were lost inside a door.

I have inspected a lot of gear box interiors, most while running, on 10 to 100 ton hoists. Found a broken drain pipe for a neihbor. Found a dead mouse behind the fridge.
