    Our hood in Marin Co. was built around 1957- 1959. The Holmes are post and Beam,lots of glass. The concrete curbs are marked with a S for sewer. If You could Buy a small Brass S pin
    would You? It could have a nail that would drive into an 1/8" roto hammer hole. It would also have Your Co. name and phone #
    I can build anything You want , if you draw a picture of it , on the back of a big enough check .

There has been many a time that I also did a heavy scratching of an "S" as well. Maybe we should all start to revive this old practice. The gas company out here does it it when they trace out a main from the street to a property.
      These days in LA the markings are done with spray cans, not just on curbs, but walls, buildings, trains, etc. LOL
