    My official guess it's a flat bar used by sheet metal guys to bend rectangle duct

    Not sure why it would be left inside a round duct

        If It's only 4 ft. in , Why haven't You pulled it out ? Piece of hooked wire should be E Z or an elec. snake
        I can build anything You want , if you draw a picture of it , on the back of a big enough check .

                You laugh, but there is a such thing as a duct stretcher. It's used in the assembly of lock and drive duct. And the more you know......
