Yes I've got a scout and the 5 watt red brick and use it to locate water pipes and works like a beuty it has 33, 8 & 1 khz frequencies I normally wet the ground and push the earth spike which comes with it, and clamp one connection to it and the other onto the pipe I am locating and then select the frequency and adjust the scout to that frequency and off I go, but it sure as hell goes through batties,
Seriously, does anyone locate things other than sondes or camera heads with one?
When I asked about using our scout for locating utility lines or tracing I was told that the scout was made for locating sondes and would not be accurate in locating using a brick. We purchased the SR20 to use with a brick. The SR20 has an omni directional antenna setup to trace the signals accurately.
