  • New CS10 Digital Recording Monitor

As most of you already know, we just launched the RIDGID SeeSnake CS10 Digital Recording Monitor. I am really excited about this one. I think it has simplified Digital Recording to the point where it is even easier than VHS and DVD but still allows you to unlock the power of digital recording.

Here is a quick overview video on the CS10

I put together a training video for our sales force that I thought I would share with the forum. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions.

    very nice josh.

so it's basically a cs-1000 without the keyboard/ computer. therefore brings the price down and allows you to use your own computer to edit the thumb drive.

if all you want to do is shoot it and give the thumb drive to the customer when finished. they plug it in, and they get a list of jpeg and avi files they can open?

i'm guessing the cs-10 is powered by 1 and or 2 batteries and or ac power cord. mix and match with auto switching?

if for some reason you loose power and had no battery, do you lose the thumb drive recording, or just what was being recorded at the instant the power went off?

is the cs-10 already on the shelves locally or what's the lead time?

Re: New CS10 Digital Recording Monitor

Rick, Good question... I just fired up my CS10 here and ran a little experiment. I recorded 10 seconds of video and pulled the plug. Wrote absolutely nothing to the Thumbdrive. SO I decide to try again and let it run a little longer in case its buffering the writes. The system actually writes the data to the thumb drive every 30 seconds or so. So depending on when you pull the plug... you could loose as much as 30 seconds of video but for long inspections the avi file will still play and seems to function fine.

So the answer is yes it will maintain the majority of your recording.

The CS10 is on some shelves locally already. We just started shipping a couple weeks ago and the response has been great so far.

                  i doubt it's $4200. that's approaching the cs-1000 price.

anyone see an online price yet?

                  rick

just found it at ohio power tool. 3868. without batteries.

Josh, can you explain the differences between the CS10 and the CS1000? Besides the keyboard they seem very similar.

Do they both have the "what's up is up" feature?

Re: New CS10 Digital Recording Monitor

The CS10 is just simple digital recording. (stills and video) All of the data is written directly to a thumbdrive. You can play back video and image files and generate an index report for the customer. Overall very focused on simple digital recording.

The CS1000 has built in reporting, a built in hard drive, the keyboard for text comments, advanced report generation features, and advanced playback. The harddrive allows you to store older jobs on the hard drive and to export multiple copies of the same job at the jobsite.

Really only similar in that they both record digital files of the inspection. the CS1000 greatly extends the capabilities beyond that but not everyone needs more than just simple digital recording.
