  • SEE-SNAKE POWER

HI ALL, I AM THINKING OF FITTING A POWER INVERTER TO MY VAN SO I CAN RUN THE SEE-SNAKE COLOUR MONITOR AND VIDEO IN CASES WHERE I CANNOT GET MAINS POWER. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHICH SIZE INVERTER I WOULD HAVE TO USE TO RUN THE ABOVE SYSTEM WITH A SELF LEVELLING HEAD etc? THANKS RICHARD.

    Richard,
Sorry about the delay in getting back with you. I had wanted to run your question past our engineers.

    I hope his comments help:

Note that inverters go all over the map in terms of quality and will handle loads differently. The problem most of them have is starting under load. Usually the bigger the inverter the better. A 400W unit may be a good recommendation to use as a general rule. The system does not draw anywhere near that much power (probably closer to 50W) but the inrush current shuts down a small inverter as it is just starting up. The bigger units also tend to be more efficient so anyone concerned about running down their battery would be better off with a bigger unit anyway.
