The black and white cameras do have excellent resolution and clarity. Another point is that they can be smaller in size as well.
The benefits of color allow you to see differences in the color of a pipe. For instance corrosion and changes to the pipe material are easier to see if there is a change in color.
B/W is an excellent camera if you need to get into smaller lines but many prefer a color image especially if they are recording to show potential customers. Most people expect to see things in color and it helps to see what is going on in the pipe.
