Which do you prefer?Bulb or down head? I have only used bulb head augers made by Ridgid for the last 14 or 15 years, and frankly curious.

What makes General better? Is the head smaller or bigger?

            General Telescoping Closet Auger 6'

Anytime I can unclog a drain without pulling a toilet, that's $85 for the 4 minutes it took to clear it, not including the time to and fro to get there and take the money *bait*.

I haven't been able to afford a closet auger yet but find duct taping a cat to the end of a broom handle works pretty good. There claws will grab anything.

It just better built. Pick the 2 up and the genral is heavier and the cable seems to be more durable. Don't buy the drophead auger, it's a terrible design, just stick with the bulb auger.
