    Re: jetter pipe pull prep

update. the hoa board was very impressed with my progress in getting the line prepped to this point.

i turned in my bid to the original plumber, who packaged it with his bid to complete the job.

they will prep the holes after i sawcut. i will also core 2- 5'' holes in the concrete sump pits to allow for the new hdpe pipe to be inserted into the sumps when finished.

the entire job is figured as a 3 step process.

day one, cut concrete, dig, and core drill.

day 2, pull new pipe and replace dirt in holes.

day 3, patch the entry and exit pit with concrete.

with any luck i'll have an answer this week as the board will meet again to vote on it.

the job needs to be done before it rains as there is no drainage. someones going to do it. hopefully i made a good "impressionator" on them to land the job

What is the cost advantage between the pull and a cut-n-patch.

I can see where a pull would be beneficial but here? I don't see it

That's what I was thinking as well as they would not be saving ornate concrete. However, I was wondering if the pull would be a cheaper fix.

don't think anyone can break, dig, and replace for $35.00 a foot.

not to mention the fact that 7 garages would be inaccessable to traffic with an open trench.

plus, with my method, all i have to patch is 12 square feet total. 10 at the pull pit and 2 at the entry pit.

            sold yet

                35 bucks a foot
                You don't need money Rick.

Rick, that only works out to about 3k. Out here concrete is about 125 a yard delivered, you would need about 5 yards assuming a 4" thick slab, thats 625 just for the concrete, 1 day with backhoe and truck, $1,800 steel plate rental 2 days, 1k, 80l.f. of 4" SDR 35, 3.75 a foot, $300, 5 yards of sand at $35 a yard, $175 ay 4k to fix it traditionally, besides I would probably swap out those basins, looks like the settled a bit.

                    Re: jetter pipe pull prep

the numbers i quoted are for my part of the job.

i am responsible for the saw cutting, and core drilling. along with the sdr17 hdpe pipe and the pipebursting process of the pipe.

the other plumbing company is responsible for the breaking of the concrete, digging, and patching of the concrete.

so although my price is low. the entire job still has other cost.

i use to do the entire process, but this is not my project. i am the sub, so they have their cost too.

plus joey works pretty cheap too

                    rick.

Your price seems right on Rick for your scope, I dont know how much the SDR-17 goes for but assuming say $4 a foot it seems to be good. If it was asphalt i would use open trench and backfill as you go, but the concrete is a whole other animal!
