  • Christmas eve emergencies

did 3 emergencies, looked at 1 and turned down 2.

    how about you

the first one i was fed homemade buttermilk waffles

the second one i looked at and controlled the leak coming through the ceiling.

the third one i was fed a ule log
    this was a 4'' c/o into a 6'' line total 58'. running 7/8'' inner core first 15' with 3''x 4'' offset cutter.

the fourth one i finished in the dark as it was raining.
it was a building i have a long tract record with.
3 unit condo. the lower unit gets waste in their shower when the upper unit kitchen is plugging up. they share a common 2'' waste line.
problem is that the 2'' c/o i installed on the outside stucco wall is still a 69' blind run prior to it surfacing in the sub-terrainian garage below. for the life of me i can't figure out why the line is running between the 1st. floor and garage ceiling in a dead space.
used my k-60 with 7/8'' reverse auger to run this line all the way to the 4'' main in the garage a total of 88'. 69'-88' is exposed, but hanging above cars that owners are out of town.

the reverse auger allows me to cut and clean the 2'' pipe very throughly and also creates an auto feed with the sectional cable. with the reverse auger the machine spins the cable back wards. this causes the cable to thread it's way into the line. all i do is add 15' sections and feed the cable through the jaws/ clutch. feeds 15' in 30 seconds at 625rpm.

switch to forward to retrieve the cable at the same rate. running water the entire time to help clean and wash out the line and cable.

did 2 passes as this was an extremely long and dirty line.

managed to find a local burger place still open at 6:30pm

    rick.

Just what I wanted to see on Christmas morning

Rick posing with a wad of nasty roots

Ben, you better watch out. Rick is pumping 40 pound curls with the K60

What's with the thumbscrew on the back end?

I set a custom made shower base...in thin set. Normally I have used mortar, cement, but never a latex based thinset.

                what's wrong with it

the cord is grounded and at least i wear my shoes when i am working.

the k-60 is so easy to operate that even with 90' runs 2 times, it never moved from that ladder step. even in the rain.

i guess it could have been worse

you could have nominated me for the darwin awards

To echo what Bill asked; why the thumb screw? That's how the guide hose locks on.
