  • Anybody ever use CLR?

    it stands for "calcium-lime-rust".

the reason i ask is i'm wondering if it would work on urinals?

    Works well:-)

If you can get a product called "Santeen" get it, it is better than CLR

Funny you should mention that Vince, I have just started using CLR on blocked aerators and shower heads , seems to work well.
I haven't used it on urinals yet but would be interested to find out too.

I use Calci-Solv on urinals after snaking them, sometimes you will have to re snake the drain after the Calci-Solv.

Calsi-solve or muriatic acid for cleaning urnals. The CLR might work if you have all day.

That's a strong admission on this forum to imply that you clean your shower screens

                Re: Anybody ever use CLR?

I had a rash of urinals last week, most Am.Stand. with these tiny trap ways.
I run the 1/4" cable through them then follow up with the Santeen.
It is produced in Hopkins MN (SW side of the cities, here) and they distribute to mostly

                  Sizzle or calci solv.

I recommend CLR to maintain the urinals. Let it sit overnight once a month

usually by the time they call the plumber the trap is almost if not completely sealed. Too much for CLR to break down quickly. The other products mentioned are much much stronger and can dissolve the build up in a half hour or so.
