  • Fernco Pipe Patch

If anybody has recent dealings with pipe patch let me know any tips or tricks on dealing with the new company that bought this product from Fernco.
I was all set to start selling this as I like it but now it is sold and the other people are hard to get a hold of. No phone number on the web site and no return of my emails. Not a good way to sell if you ask me.

You should PM Gene Bickford and JRSaltz, both off the top of my head deal with the fernco pipe patch regularly and can probably set you up with someone to speak with.

I'm not exactly sure how everything worked when Fernco owned the product line. I'm pretty sure it was in name only as the contacts/reps remain the same.

I have never had a problem with contacts getting back to me ASAP. To date they have been very responsive to questions/concerns. After reading CUDAs post I checked their web site and noticed a lack of phone #'s, and contact info????

I will contact Chad Miller in the A.M. and invite him to join the forum.
I'm sure he can/will answer any questions and address any concerns.

        Re: Fernco Pipe Patch

i already spoke to both the local rep in vegas/ carl and the factory rep/ jeff in michigan.

they should be on as i've invited them to give us a lesson and education for this product.

basically fernco is not selling directly to the end user. you need to go through a rep and be certified in the process. it protects you, them and the customer.

hopefully either jeff from source 1 enviromental or carl the local rep will jump in.

                  Re: Fernco Pipe Patch

I am not happy with the fact that this product is not sold direct.

I was so happy to find out that my rep. is a salesman from a pipe distributor who has very little real time experience installing trenchless repairs.

He tried selling me rain gear and flashlights while he was there too!

Every supply house that is slow right now will want to pick this up and sell it but they have no on the job experience. It has made it difficult for me.

I like the product but when we are talking about having to dig up a yard or parking lot because a fast talking salesman said the product should work just fine in a particular situation and it dosent........GIVE ME A SPECIALIST!!!

Get some guys out there who have real experience and step up the training. I am a so called "certified installer" based on the fact that my salesman came out and threw a patch in a piece of SDR I had laying around. We wet out the patch, inflated it in a piece of pipe, waited an hour and whala........I'm a certified installer.

There is a big market for this stuff but you have to provide the support to go along with it.

I am glad to see you here though, it shows me you actually care what the end users think and are making an effort to better your product. That's better than most companies out there. Follow Ridgid's example seen here and you cannot go wrong.

                    Re: Fernco Pipe Patch

Wow jrsaltz, my experience was total opposite of yours. My trainer came all the way to Maine from Rhode Island and really knew his $hit..When he left, I had his office, cell and home phone #'s. Unfortunately he is no longer in the business.

I to wish we could buy direct as the only problems I have encountered have been with my supply house. In fact I met Chad while he was at my distributors to address some of those concerns.

Chad recently gave me the name of a more experienced supplier that will ship, but I have forgot the name, maybe he can post it here.

Any questions I have had have always been directed to my trainer or directly to the folks at Pipe Patch. They have always been very responsive. I have never had to contact Chad in an emergency, but I'm pretty confidant he would return my call within a 1/2hr. He normally returns my call (if he doesn't answer direct) within an hour even though I let him know it's nothing important and to call when he gets a chance.

Thanks Gene. I too have talked with Chad and he is very knowledgeable and great to talk with.

I still have an issue with the supply house. Things take for ever to get and it's the same old song and dance every time. We are back ordered or "you haven't got it yet"???? "I'll look into it"

Again, customer service is key in my book.

Sounds like your supplier and my supplier both went to the A.C.M.E. school of customer service.
Kind of sucks for the guys at Pipe Patch, as so far their customer service has been top notch.
