    The larger the pipe, and the larger the cutter you are running, the cable can turn around on itself. I have had it happen a few times. The smaller cutters it is less likely to happen. Which is one of the reasons when I clean a sewer I use a starting cutter like a small 2" or a straight auger or the Ell springy spear head. Once I get that through then I go to a 3" then 4" and finally run a 6" cutter though.

    Oh a note if your cable is real limber it can turn around easily on it self as well.
