    Handyman strikes again (Photo)
Back from a weekend wedding good times
    Now back to work.
I got this call for a kitchen sink back up. Lady say's Handyman installed and Built a washing machine room in basement. Go under kitchen sink find new plumbing an S trap OK go into basement he probably left the drum trap there connected new PVC pipe from sink with a fernco. All walled in can't see it. So I snake from up stairs S trap strait down and bang no turn dead stop . Does not feel like normal Drum trap. I explain to the lady I need to pull back the new panel wall to see what's wrong. Se gives me a little trouble and say's it ran fine for 3 weeks why would there be a problem now. I asked if the handyman was a Licensed plumber no but he does a lot of work. Pulled wall open and found this.

But it drained for 3 weeks what's wrong with it he did it at a great price
She did not want it fixed. So I cleared it with an air ram no guarantee.

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

I deal with this sort of handyman, Joe HO hack plumbing all the time.
Can't compete with the hacks and their $10.00 bucks an hour. Thank God they can't afford to buy real drain cleaning equipment.

I Just do drains now plus little plumbing work as a sub for a local plumber if he needs help. Clear the drains give me money next job. I drove 45 minutes to the house so I was making sure I got something. Can't believe she did not want it fixed. Thanks for the cash no guarantee even put on slip plumbing not to code needs to be replaced.
Seemed like she did not care that it was done wrong.

Sometimes, by acknowledging the problem, you're also acknowledging the fact you got ripped off.

I am not a plumber or a handyman, and I know that this is bad bad stuff. She should have had it fixed, You or some other poor guy will be back in about 3 weeks.

                            holy crap$hit, that sux.

I thought we had it bad and they're just on bathtubs here.

I would quit this line of work if every drain had a inaccessible drumtrap like these damn bathtubs. Even if accessible you probably have to go in the basement to open the drum which im sure is the highlight of your day. We dont have basements so we'd be screwed.

One good thing about Katrina, many people (not all) are replacing their drumtraps during renovation.

What about the grease and food in the line? They must stop up frequently on a kitchen sink. I feel for you.

I may have a nightmare about this tonight.
