I use HC just in case of that rare kink. Cut splice back to work.

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

I use IC cables for the durability and I cut and splice them together just the same. A bit more difficult though. My equipment is all Gorlitz.

            Re: cable??

Inner Core is great for clean out access lines and heavy blockages. It torques quicker and can go longer distances. Where hollow core cable is good if you have to run the cable through 4" p-traps and lots of turns, and light blockages. It is also lighter.

Now there is a few different types of inner core cable. You can get it with aircraft wire, opposite wound wire, or plastic core. My father used the plastic core wire all the time. Its the lightest of the bunch and still gives you decent torque. I like the opposite wound cables myself. It tends to help build the torque a bit faster. It is pretty stiff when you first get it but once its broken in, you will love it.

Now no matter which style cable you get, try to get it in music wire. Music wire cable resists acid the best. Standard oil tempered cable if you put it in a line with acid, it will break like peanut brittle the next day. Where as music wire you can put it in acid multiple times and it still will be strong and durable.

Its made like piano wire, its the way its drawn and tempered. Its molecular structure is much tighter no gaps so the acid can not penetrate through the steel. Unlike oil tempered wire if you look at the molecular structure it has gapping holes.

Not that I recall. Service Spring makes music wire.. I think they are called Draincables direct. I will ask Marty when I talk to him next. Ridgid and Spartan used to make Music wire cable but not for a few years now, unless they recently changed.

In terms of residential with heavy roots the IC is your good bud
but can be tough if you have to navigate some bendy 3"
                      or short sweep 4" bends.
I like the 3/4 Vs the 11/16 for root battles.

I would only and I mean ONLY buy Ridgid 3/4 IC cable.
I can and do run 3" traps all the time with 3/4 IC cable
Main thing is only buy the Ridgid cable....long story but I have put many cables to the test and the Ridgid cable is far the best when it comes to 3/4.

do you have to use the trap leader to get through a 3" trap? or can you jump the trap

Back when I got my first K-750 the Ridgid cable was awesome. Never had any issues with it. Just be careful of any lines with acid in it.

My 1065 I have on my truck now has Ridgid 3/4 IC cable in it, but the first thing I had Alan J Coleman do was chop of the Ridgid female screw driver ends and put on the punch pin ends.

I use a pin punch and knock out the screw in the ridgid end. I then drill the hole out to accept a roll pin. Same concept as a spartan end.
                              Buy cheap, buy twice.
