    Re: 2"-4" warthog nozzle

I got to try one out before the show. It does not have a controlled spin, but it does have an offset forward jet where other spinners do not. Sadly the engine on my J-3000 decided to not start the day I was going to use it on a known root infested line, so I never got a chance to test it out on roots. I did however use it on a solid ice and tampon blockage, along with a real tight grease blockage. It worked great on them two jobs, it pulled nicely through the line cleared the blockages in one full pass. The machine I used it on as I noted is a J-3000 which is 3000 PSI @ 5 GPM

I hope this little review helps.

I have the 3/8 warthog with 5.5gpm and it is good on grease, sludge and even good on baby wipes and some roots at that gpm but I wouldn't go any less gpm eventhough its stamped on it 4-8gpm.

Even at 5.5 gpm I think the root ranger reverse turbine is better at cutting roots but the hog is great at actually cleaning the pipes.

To be honest I just love having both!

    Just my opinion though.

    Phil.

I looked at them at the show and talked to one of the reps, the 1/4 wart hog is NOT a controlled spin... so I think it is more of a glorified spinner nozzle, probably work well for removing grease sludgr etc.... but no goosd on roots...Ill stick with my 3/8 warthog it is great fo roots grease or whatever is stuck in the pipe.

not sure if a 3gpm warthog will do any good.

i do know a rootranger will eat the warthog for lunch at those specs.

don't waste your money on it yet. wait till some of the guys attending the pumper show get all the facts.

For what it will cost.. yeah.. I'll wait for the consensus from the elders. I trust Jake, Ron's opinion.

I have a 3/8 Warthhog. Its set up for 8 gpm with 300 feet of 3/8 hose. Allen J Coleman. I think that is even too small sometimes for heavy roots. It rocks for grease and has cleared 12 inch line full of manure and bedding. Cant beleve 3 gpm will pull that well.
