    Re: Full lead trap

    that's funny!

I see them almost every other day. Can't remember the last time I saw all brass waste pipe though $$$ Usually stays lead all the back to the closet bend.

When I cant see the tub trap and I suspect that it may be lead, I like to use a hand spinner. A simple tub stoppage can turn into a bathroom remodel in a split second

I see a decent amount of these. Especially in the bronx on old standing/barrel waste tubs and stand alone showers. If I know its lead I tell the customer the risks and use a hand spinner and a real soft cable if they want it snaked. Usualy they opt for replacement and the plumber cuts it out and I'll snake it while its open.

I don't see them all that often, but they are out there.
Have never seen brass drain piping, just brass fittings with copper piping.

Removed tons of lead Traps in Boston area. Drum traps, P-traps, pipe. Old classic plumbing. Like seeing pictures of old plumbing a true plumbing skill lost to all plastic.
