  • Update on Easycam after a few months or usage

    Update....
After buying the easycam because the city bought their own camera and provide this service for free I Turned down the loan to buy the Ridgid SeeSnake Because of this. I paid cash for the easycam no payments .
After few months of using this camera
This unit is holding up well. This is a good starter unit the push rod I was nervous about does well pushed about 125 feet no problems so far.
If your looking for a good intro unit this it the way to go. If your thinking about buying a South Coast Equipment camera don't waste your money. Had two both sucked and failed. SEC costs about the same And I believe if you use this camera to work up to a better camera the easycam can be sold or traded in where a SEC no one want's to buy used or take in trade.
When I have enough money to buy a SeeSnake in cash. I will keep this unit as a good back up if needed.
As of now I have no complaints about easycam.

Having an OK camera is far better than trying to save up for a better camera with no camera. I should have no problem saving up for a SeeSnake and buying a New SeeSnake while this unit is coverd under it's 2 year warrantee.

Now that my wife's hours were cut and pay dropped by $1.00 per hour and calls slowing down. I have no doubt in my mind if I took the loan on the SeeSnake it would get "Repossessed" and I'm not ashamed to admit that. It's just the times. But I think it was a good move and will help me get to my goal a new 200 foot SeeSnake.

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

Speaking of checks in the mail. One just came in. Small but will help keep the lights on.

Glad to hear you're having good luck with Easycam. I had to rent a camera and locator this weekend as I don't own one yet. I hate that!! The Easycam is a true sewer cam for 3" and up. I'd be interested in the mini see snake; or get the Easycam and that new Micro for the small drains; I run into so many issues with smaller drains... I think that Micro would really come in handy. One thing I like about Easycam is it doesn't lock you into that whole "proprietary" monitor. I know one of the partners that owns Easycam(he's been mentioned by others in the posts). I'm sure he's doing well with the camera... Many *r. Rooters are buying and using them.

How much is the easycam? If I where looking to get into a starter camera I would buy the seesnake 100ft mini reel and explorer for 3k. But if the easycam is around 2k I might change my opinion based on this good review.

I got mine 200 feet with 512 for $4,200 I know I know. I could have bought a used Seesnake. But I just did not want to risk someone else's headache. No warrantee and if it breaks OH! shoot I'm broke and no camera now what? For me the safest way and smartest way was to buy new camera under warrantee and be able to inspect over 100 feet. I set aside 60% of my camera jobs to fund future Seenake. The Easycam is good for peeking into sewers and seeing whats wrong. The Seesnake is the total inspection package
My SEC camera I was losing money left and right so many lines it would not push. That camera flat out SUX. Then the city bought a camera Grrrrrrrrrrr. But there are other towns to service. Buy easycam pay cash now no payments Now I'm saving and making more and even faster. Will have a SeeSnake in two years of less paid in full. Fingers crossed.
