Roto-Rooter and DuraCable are owned by the same company.

And I was asking because I was wondering if it was something else I should consider and maybe I was missing something because others are willing to purchase the equipment knowing they are the same company.

Good to know it's a good machine.

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

Re: Ordered my new sink machine today.

Roto rooter/duracable just sells the equipment and the franchise. The franchise operator is your competitor. You buy the machine, yeah, ultimately you are feeding $ to the marketing machine, but pretty indirectly. And if it's a decent machine at a decent price, fine. No-one is going to steal your repeat customer work with an ad campaign; you've got to screw that up yourself.

I've not had a chance to play with a dm150, but I think it similar to the k-3800. k-3800 impressed me with the ease of pulling the drum; easy balanced two-hand carry, easy to swap drums to change from 1/2" to 3/8". Anyone have one? How much is it pushing it to ask either machine to do 4" lines to 80' with 1/2" cable (paper/tampon clogs, not roots)? I use a go-50 and a dm10 for that now and am happy with them, but think I would like the easy carry and compact size of the k-3800 and dm150. the dm10 with 100' of 1/2" in it is an awkward load to carry up and down stairs.
This is my reminder to myself that no good will ever come from discussing politics or religion with anyone, ever.

Good luck with the new machine rod. When is the memorial service for the old viking? Are you going to set on fire and set adrift in the Ocean?

Maybe I'll turn the Viking into a office show piece or door stop
