  • Mini Rooter problems

    Greetings all,
First time poster and just starting viewing this forum on Saturday.
I purchased a General Mini-Rooter with 3/8"and 1/4" drums and have been dissapointed in it's performance.
The last three jobs I have done all being from roof on a 2" cast iron kitchen stack it seems this machine with 3/8" cable cannot get thru clogs and I am quite certain it is at the bandboard offset.
This machine was recommended by local distributor.

I am thinking of trading it in for a new machine (s).

        Re: Mini Rooter problems

for 2'' you'll need the 5/8'' sectional cable and either a 4 blade cutter or the auger.

the k-50 is more like the mini rooter in capacity. but the k-60 is the best of both worlds as it will do the small and the large stuff, plus roots.

unfortunately the k-60 will set you back 4 times the cost of the mini rooter, but well worth it.

i know adam smiles every time he uses the k-60, he calls me

        rick.
        phoebe it is

          Re: Mini Rooter problems

the k-60is a good suggestion... I wish I had one myself

the mini-rooter will take up to 1/2" cable

I have decent luck with mine using 1/2" cable

Keep in mind, it's only a 1/3 HP motor
