  • Ridgid K-40 with Auto feed

I have been looking at the Ridgid k-40 with auto feed to replace my general top snake.

I like the no mess drum, the fact the machine sits on the floor or counter.

I will use it to clean lavs, showers, kitchens from the top.

I have used my general for about 10 years now, love it, but it makes a mess.

A couple buddies of mine use gorlitz and love it over the general.

Any one use the ridgid machine? Like it? Love it? opinions? Is it a well built sturdy machine that will last me like my General Supervee has? I generally have stayed away from Ridgid drain cleaning equipment.

I have not heard great reviews.

I was also thinking about buying one until I read all of the negatives. I bought two K-39's and a Spartan 300 to cover my small line jobs.

I go right from a K-38AF (older version of the K-39) to a K-400 for indoor work...

I love the K-400 and a drop head for kitchen sink lines

I must admit I was not very pleased with mine when I first bought it at a charity auction the cable was not stiff enough to reload back in the drum and would twist up in the hose and drum it was a mess. I put in a stiffer cable and relocated the power feed from the front of the hose to the back and it works ok now but most times I gust grab the 39 it is heaver to hold and work with but I just use it for short lines. But I would like to see the K 40 redesigned
