  • Manhole/Septic Guide Pipe ....

Is that what these are called ? For rodding backwards through main lines. Anyone know of any kits out there or should I just make my own ?

think this is what you mean

if you are just talking getting to the bottom of the mh and pointing up the main, then 1 1/2" pvc electrical conduit works well, is cheap, and has those nice long gentle sweeps you can cut off to whatever angle you want.

This is the only pre-made kit that I've found.

          $200.00 kit

the electrical pvc works great. or you can use a section of hdpe gas pipe and heat it to an angle that allows a gradual bend into the flow. cut yourself a 1 x 6 with a hole drilled into it to center the pipe in the manhole ring.

$200 will buy you lots of hdpe and 1x6

          rick.

p.s. ridgid has a model "A-17" manhole guide.

No picture but it seems kinda pricey too

I'm going to make my own. What would be the position/resting place of the "1" x 6" with a hole drilled into it to center the pipe" ?

            ThanX for the tips

Just looking at the electrical PVC. Can you get this stuff threaded or is it all connected by slip joints ? I want to be able to connect an assortment of different pipe lengths as required at the different job sites.

Would it be easier just to go with the common 1 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipes ?

I have the Ridgid manhole guide its pretty slick. But I preffer my old style 2" C channel rail with a slight bend on it.
