  • Why to own a sectional?

I'll tell you why. I just came back from clearing a main drain. I ran water at different places to get a feel for where the blockage was at. Soft blockage with a trickle.

    No roof access.

    Both bathrooms backed up.

Took 1 section of 7/8" in the crawlspace to a C.O. Tee (Fortunately).

Ran it in there, back and forth, twist and.....whooosh!

Back in the truck with a tip in no time.

P.S. this is one reason to own a sectional. There are many reasons to own a drum too.

    Merry Christmas!

I try to make a habit of cleaning the entire line. When you accessed the pipe in the crawlspace after filling the system did you get a bigger swoosh then or after you hit the clogg? Man those jobs can get messy quick.
Glad you had what you needed to get them flushing.

Same here clean the whole line to make sure you don't have to go back.
Nothing say's ticked off customer better than when you have to go back because you did not run the whole sewer.

I always told my guys the expensive part was getting them on the job so do the entire line while you're there.

What are you considering the whole line.
To outside the stucture.Cleanout is 5' from the exiting exterior footing.
Out to the street.Boy that's a looong driveway.

                  Merry Christmas J.C.

I'm taking bets from all of you that I won't have a callback on it. Matter of fact, I can't recall a drain callback as a result of the work I performed.

Yea they seem to be that way when you are adding 10 or, 15' sections

Fair enough. Guess the next time I have a soft clog in PVC 2' downgrade from the bathroom group, run the cable a few feet upstream & it breaks free, flushes both toilets multiple times, all sinks running, & I'm watching through the cleanout without any backup at all.....then I'll turn the cable around and run it to the street.

Just like all of you do after clearing a lavatory or tub with a K-39/45.
