    Re: General Question

It uses the same battery as the old Tool box monitor, the ProPress 100B and the 320B which is the Makita 14.4V

It defiantly has more power than the Auto Spin /K-30 unit. Just used it on two more jobs and its going strong. Still do not understand why there is a dislike about this machine. It works perfect for what it is designed for.

      Re: General Question

Oh I forgot to mention AJ Coleman is giving away 75th Anniversary pipe wrench sets with the purchase of a new rodding machine. Not sure if it has to be Ridgid or not Maybe Marvin can elaborate on it for us.

No, it's not rocket science, it's plumbing and unlike rocket science it requires a license.

            Re: General Question

I wonder how easy it is to throw a loop with the cable in the drum. I had a Spartan 81 and that thing was crap, no power and kinked cables were common. I do a lot of old apts. with Durham traps and broken strainers witch are always full of junk. I tried the Ridgid slide chuck and thought it was junk, same with the newer automatic feeder. The three jaw chuck top snake is the only top snake that has worked for me but even with that, you have to be careful sometimes not to kink the cable.

Just an update. My friend and I used the K-40 on a couple hand wash sinks in a restaurant. I let my buddy use it through the strainer and through the 1 1/2 P-trap, he was impressed on how well the machine did its job. He owns a Ridgid K-39 and he likes the K-40 so much he wants to get one as well now. I really likes the fact he doesn't have to hold up the machine with one hand and feed the cable with the other.

The pistol rodders with no auto feed are very awkward. With the K-39AF you use both hands to hold the weight of the gun. One on the trigger and the other on the feed.

                  Ron,

You think it's a lock Rick will buy a rodder from Marvin to get the wrench set?
