    Re: Alternative Sewer Machine

Yes a video would be nice. BUT what happens when you have just added a 10' section of cable and you hit a problem area? What keeps the 10' of loose cable from twisting up? I suppose the size and stiffness of the cable will not allow it to kink? Seems you would need to be able to stand atleast 10-12' away from the drain opening to use the setup with the drill.

You can unhook a 10 or 8 section of cable and attach a 4 foot section for more torque. My eel cable is 8 foot sections.
The cable can flip without damage most of the time.

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

What flip in the open?? I already own a Milwaukee 1854-1 Drill...wonder if that would work...never use it for anything else...

Another cool trick is if your in a basement with clean out in the wall 5 or 6 feet off the floor and a 10-30 foot run to the septic tank. Grab a few sections push them into the sewer till you hit blockage connect drill and done . Same rule if you need to get closer disconnect and get 4 footer.
With the 4 footer you can jump a hose trap in seconds

You will lean to let go so it does not flip, Think about its better to flip out side the sewer and not get stuck then get flipped inside and stuck the sewer where you can't pull it out.

K60 can flip on you too. Any machine can flip on you you just have to know when to back off the blockage.
Funny part is I feel safer running the drill rather than the K60

Well no doubt it just seems like you would have more control over the k60 vs the drill...only because I have never ran any sectional style machines or cables before.....Seems like cables cost about the same...so only difference is cost of machine....IDK...I don't mind paying a little more for the k60, especially if I started out with the drill and ended up buying the k60 anyways...

Only difference is the drill will clear a lot more than the K60. I still like my k60
But the big brother drill gets the tuff jobs done.

Okay that was an very unexpected response...now I am in some wonder if the K-60 is it or not...the thing is once I clean a sewer here I don't want to go back before its time...in this area I'm the go to guy cause everybody else is poking holes...like I said I love that K-7500 for 11 years now..does the job and then some, but basement stairs SUCK IT....

Don't get me wrong the K60 is good the drill and eel is stronger will clear bigger blockages way less of a chance flipping in a sewer due to the 1.25 cable.
You can run the eel 6 x 4 expander blade best finish blade in the market.
Expander blade will whip what ever roots are left for a much better clean.

I will admit when I get called in to clear drains that others could not.
They look at me funny with this set up then their jaws hit the floor when I clear the drain that they could not with my drill
Once you learn the term footing this will scare you too but it's safe Gene knows what I'm talking about. Thats yet another step in mastering this set up. I wish Gene would log on too I'm sure we could post for hours on this set up.
