Just got it together and powered it on. Is it normal for you to be able to stop the rotating shaft with your bare hand

3/4 horsepower unit with 156' of cable and a few extra cutters.

It's set at 100 lbs of torque. You can adjust it by tightening the two slotted screws on the clutch. Careful though it's super sensitive. Did you get the torque wrench?

I bought the torque wrench adapter. I already have a torque wrench so hopefully it will work.

Heading out to the saloon I'll deal with it tomorrow or on the weekend

Just keep in mind that when you hit a tough blockage you don't want to build up torque like you do with your 300. You will end up damaging your cables. When you hit a tough blockage just put the machine in reverse, go back a few feet then hit the blockage again. Shouldn't take more than a few times and you will get though it. Or just crank up your clutch and go balls to the wall. Either the blockage will give or your cables!

unlike your drum machines, never toach the cable when moving with your hand!

Will is correct, the torque setting is very sensitive, just a minor adjustment goes a long way. I over tighten my clutch when i first got it and broke 4 cables, thank god for the innercore.

Asstyme.......where did you end up getting it from?

It was between the K-1500 and Eel Model C, I thought long and hard and went with the Eel. If I end up not liking the Model C I can always run the Eeel cables with the 1500

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

I see Spartan feed bearings in the picture. If you wore out your feed bearings on the 300 already you are over tightening the feed. The way I do it is I tighten the feed down while the rod is spinning and once it starts to feed just tighten it a half turn more. As for the Eel Model C, you will like it a lot once you get the hang of it. Surprised Marv didn't give you the best price on the setup you got.
