  • GFI Cord.....

I have a 25' GFI cord that still powers the machine but the GFI part doesn't work when the test button is pressed. How long do these things usually last and are they serviceable or should I just get a whole new GFI cord ?

i doubt you can get them open as they tend to have security screws.

get a new one or add a plug in cord gfic with 6'' pigtail. then cut out the old gfi and add a male plug to plug directly into the new gfi.

total cost under $20.00 compared to well over $75.00

I second that thought. That's what we use. Get them at HD. Rick can verifty from experienced in SoCal a lot of inspectors have a Canary if they see guys using corded equipment without a GFI on it, regardless if its a Drill or Hilti Jack Hammer.
