  • K-60 Drain Machine Repair

Here is a job I just finished up. The K-60 was locked up I determined that the problem was one of the bearings was frozen tight. Took it apart removed the bearings (I replace both of them). Pressed in some new water resistant bearings that I have had good success with, bolted everything back together and with some minor adjustments the machine is back in service.....

Nose cone and drive gear removed..

    Bearing was frozen tight...

    Machine taken apart.

New bearing pressed and installed in drive gear..

    Drive gear reinstalled

Front bearing installed in nose cone.

All bolted back together ready for work...

had a similar write up a couple years ago.

but of course trying to do a simple search was not happening as the search feature is a waste of time on the forum. so i had to review over 1000 photos of mine to find the thread.

          nothing to apologize for

in fact thanks for taking the time and effort to post and document the steps and photos for the k60 repair.

nice to have another welder/ plumber on the forum to share their knowledge with all of us. wait til "tool" finds out their's another welder to play with.

          welcome

            Thanks Rick for the welcome.
I like sharing info, and as you well know the info that is only learned by experience is what matters. Don't get me wrong "book" knowledge is good but it only heads you in the right direction, before experience takes over..
"Wisdom is to know how to use the knowledge you have learned".
Does age come with wisdom? or does wisdom come with age?
We all have something to offer, we all have our God given talents. I think we start to have problems when we get out of out "talent range"..
