  • Recording with sewer camera

I have a seesnake that is about 8 years old. I bought the basic model and have been experimenting over the years with ways to record. I used a laptop with software for a while, but it was cumbersome, I used a dvd recorder, but it always seemed to glitch or not record right. I do not have much money to spend. A year ago, my monitor went out, so I bought a little flat screen to plug into it, but I have been wanting to record to SD card in MP4 format. I just found a way to do it for about $150.00 I purchased a Home security mini dvr recorder that records to a 32G sd Card in MP4. The reason, I like the MP4 is that I use a Mac with Final cut software to edit, archive, and add a voice over the video. It also emails out to the customer very easy. I will post pics once I get the box built. We used it yesterday, and it was awesome. I hit record, then when I was done, loaded the SD card into my laptop that I already have mounted in my truck and emailed myself the video int about 3 minutes total. We also have an Ipad that we can now take into the house after emailing the video to show the customer. What do you think?

or are you not using a ridgid seesnake?

I am using the ridgid seesnake, but it has a video out port on the back, that I plug my setup into. I should have some pictures of it all tomorrow.

so the monitor still has a good power supply?

For my cameras that do not already have DVD or digital I tried several things like DVR etc but in the end the Sony DVD recorders that are the same units in the Ridgid DVD units are almost perfect no glitches, I am curious what brand you where using that glitched? As for the new MP4 system you have built sounds good love MP4 gets us a picture!

they will work with anything as they have an rca out.

i rarely sell anything. especially something unreplaceable.

For many years none have come up on ebay but recently there have been 2 I think and there is one on there right now, just search for seesnake and you will see it.

Looks great but the seller seems shaky. Did you see the seller's other "ridgid camera system" where it looks like a hollowed out monitor? As good of a deal as it might be, I think I'll pass.

They are high demand for all the guys who want to make there own system, the black box is the key to using a seesnake with whatever monitor or recorder you want. Value? Seems like $300- $400 tops. These are just as rare but seem to go cheaper and do the same thing

                              I never knew they existed.

Seems very strange Ridgid would stop making them
