  • Needing Motor for K-375

I have an older model K-375 drum cleaner that I am needing a new drive motor for. On-line parts list shows it obsoleted. Anyone know of a recommended replacement without having to buy a new machine? It is a:
    Emerson
    MN: S55KXLHN-6171
    1/3 HP
    1725 RPM
    Single Phase
    110/115 VAC
    60 Hz
    60 Amp
    Code: M

Wait for this guy named rick to respond, or someone who sounds like they know what they are talking about,,, ln the meantime find a supplier, (like Coleman something or another,, do a search for Coleman, in here,,,,) and tell them exactly what you want. Good luck.

I couldn't find a generic replacement online. however, try a motor rebuild shop. i've had excellent dealings with my local shop. you get a rebuilt unit, probably of better quality than a new one, as most small shops have more pride in their work.

electric motor rebuilders in your area:

graingers should have something if you can bear the cost of it.

should be a basic 1/3 hp with a base plate. of course it should be reversible too. not a big deal if you know how to wire in the foot pedal air switch. otherwise the ridgid one is plug and play.

              rick.

I tried to wire my new one myself and I couldn't get the motor to go in reverse. I had to pay the rooter store to put in my new one.

I think the Mytana M661 has that same motor. I know it's 1725 rpms and 1/3 hp.

Sorry for the confusion. You are correct, the K375 motor # 37977 was obsoleted... However, it is now an available item again. Available for purchase via any distributor or online at Pressing Technology - RIDGID Professional Tools. Please call Tech Support via 800-519-3456 if you have any additional questions.

At $313.95 you could buy a brand new machine for another $100.00.

Go on ebay and see what you can find.

                      Rick.
