    Re: a good day fishing

Between the 2 days with snaking, multiple camera and locates, jetting , fishing and cleanup, I have 6 hours.

I hope the owners are happy. They are a family that rent out the house to a new tenant.

The plumber who referred me was very impressed. He had snaked the line 2 times in 1 month and then referred me for camera work.

Prior to that, the plumber said the house sat empty for a long period of time.

    Honestly, I was impressed too.

    Rick.

So how do you bill the job? Start the clock @ an hourly rate? Give hourly updates and get approvals for more time? How do you profit with unknowns?

          Re: a good day fishing

The job was for a camera inspection at a set 2 hour inspection rate. Once the line was determined to be plugged and with cables, i called and got an ok to snake and try to retrieve the cables.

The job needed to be jetted to cut off a large root in the 6" lateral. That was contracted for the jetter, plus. The family authorized a price not to exceed and I was under that. So other than a large series of cracks at the 56' mark, the line is spotless.

Might be a good job for a pipe patch . Easy push to 56' from the 4" cleanout.

The camera made it possible to snag every cable, including the little 4" gold fish.

          Rick.
