Yes as per my opinion General is good. I have a good hand over it. For other augers, I would say they are complicated to use and manage.

Maybe he meant its a pain in the *** to get the extension pin to release.....which if you don't extend the auger much and keep that pin clean and lubed it can be?

If you ever make it back up here give me a ring. We can meet up for lunch, or a spending spree at AJ Coleman.

yea I use the drop head 6 ft.drop head to. I do replace the roll pin in the head as I had it brake and had to take up the stool to get it out. But I put ss screws and roll pens on everything.

Re: Once again, best toilet auger please

Got my hands on the new Ridgid K-6 auger. I am very impressed, I have now put my older auger on the shelf as a back up. I really like the new handle grips, and so does my daughter which has hands half the size of mine. The cable seemed a bit limber at first, but it is perfect it torqued right through a water closet packed tight full of paper towels by some vandal. Also came across one of the first generation Eljer 1.6gpf water closets where 9 times out of ten the trap turn is so tight I was never able to get the auger through it, the New Ridgid worked perfectly. I give the new Ridgid K-6 an A+

Re: Once again, best toilet auger please

Going to the show today and giving it a test drive. Should be lots of toilets at the show and in the convention center. Should be fun to walk up to a booth and run an auger through their new toilets while everyone watches in horror.

I'll take my film crew to capture the moment.

Reminds me of the scene in jackass where the guy took a dump in a floor model toilet at home depot.

If I were to go out to HD this coming weekend and purchase a K-3 auger would it be of the new design ?

What do I need to look for ?

The grips on the crank handle and the auger tube are tapered to fit more comfortably in your hands.

Yes, depot will have the new design. Easiest indicator is the one piece handle. The old one was made from 2 half shells of plastic.
