Yes General. Drop head or bulb head is debatable. I like the drop head as it has a pig tail hook to pull items out. The bulb head is more forgiving going through the trap.

Aw man.. come on. So have any of you used the redesign of our toilet augers? Better cable, new one piece molded handle, improved ergonomics, etc.

Curious to hear if you still think General wins out over the redesign... Anyone tried it yet and compared it?

To be honest I have not yet tried the Ridgid auger, only looked at them in HD. I took the advise of others and purchased General.

Maybe I'll try a Ridgid down the road but it's going to be hard to beat something that has lasted years with weekly usage and have no issues with.

Does Ridgid also offer a drop head model ?

I guess I do have an issue with my 6' General bulb head auger which I seldom use, I most always use the 3'.

It's a Royal PITA to push the button and then to get it extended or un extended.

I prefer the general. but needed one in a pinch and bought a ridgid and the cable is just to flimsy for my liking

I tried the new Ridgid and wanted to like it. It is not horrible but I still prefer the handle on the General.
