  • Anchor cable location

I asked this question on the DCF as well, but can anyone give me a rational explanation as to why general drum machines mount the anchor cable at the front of the drum and coil in counterclockwise (if facing the drum)? Ridgid and spartan machines mount at the back of the drum and coil in clockwise. seems odd as the cable itself is wound the same for general and ridgid machines. General seems to be the one that has problems with the cable getting overlapped inside the drum and the autofeeders never seem to be able to pull the cable back.

I believe my General drum has the mount on the rear of the drum, would have to check to verify. As to the auto feed I don't use it much, but when I do I tend to have to help it.

Thanks. All of the diagrams on the general site of the speedrooter and the maxirooter show it mounted on the front of the drum. Seems weird to me

Was thinking of a different machine. On the 91 for me it is on the front of the drum.
