    Thanks, Josh

My dad says if the cable is like the original cable that came with the K-750 way back when, it is well worth its weight in gold.

      To bad I can't stuff 100' of 5/8" in my 300. If I could I'd give it a test

Then again I can get 132' of .55 in there.

      Hmmmmmm.............

I know my dad used to fit 100' in the very old 300's Not sure about the new machines if they made the drums smaller or not. But I know they claim it will only hold 82' of 5/8" cable.

                Re: Drum Cable Testers Needed - 5/8 + 3/4"

The older aircraft wire was the best cable ever. When I bought a newer 7500 and it came with a different innercore, I ruined it almost the first week. Nothing came close to the strength and stiffness of the good old stuff.

Josh, hope this leads up to some more choices in 7/8", like they offer in 5/8" & 1.25".

You know who will be on the list of testers

                Rick.

Never had a chance to use the old stuff. What does it compare to?

The old stuff was almost kink proof. When we got a K-750 (which my father loved for how quite it was), the cable would twist up in the drum, and if it was any other cable, you had massive kinks, the old stuff after you got it straightened out in the drum, not a single kink. My father at that time ordered Ridgid 3/4" cable for all six of our 1065 machines.

IMHO the old stuff was like using a flexible ¾” rod the beststuff I have ever used.

All the time that I ran a 300 85' was all that I ever got into it and believe me I tried but it just was not workable
