I have several core drilling machines. Small holes get the hand held rig, although I've done 6" by hand, it's ruff on the machine and operator. Bigger holes get the stand and bolt down.

I always go wet when I can. Drills fast and cool with no dust, just slurry.

Typically dry bits wont do real solid concrete, just hollow block. Also most dry bits are high speed angle grinders. Some have a set up for a vacuum cleaner to suck the dust.

Start with a good handheld unit that can also be adapted to a coreing stand.

Online is the easiest and least expensive way to buy. You could try whitecap, but they're expensive and selection varies by location.

Some larger building supply, concrete block, supply houses sell them too. Buy dry bits are typically limited to bock wall and not solid concrete.
