  • Electric Eel cutter question

I've been running into a trac lately that has a 3" cleanout on the side of the house but the cleanout goes straight into a 3" medium sweep 1/4 bend. The electric eel spiral is nada...What kind of cutter would you recommend for this?

    Re: Electric Eel cutter question

I've given this careful consideration. I think I would take the eel heavy duty 3 inch cutter and cut it shorter. then I would bend the tips back in and grind the edge back on. I may even narrow the width of the blades, I don't mean thinning the metal.

Plus I would never use a spiral root saw as long as I lived...... just kidding about that but I never need a spiral blade just the c cutters. heck I don't even own a spear bit. maybe our Michigan roots aren't that tuff

have you tried the General HD sprial? it's not elongated like the Eel. One drawback is that in real heavy root mass it sort of bottoms out because it is so short.

I think that's the one I tried. Just gets stuck in the bend.

Ben the heavy duty 1 sucks. Use the normal spiral rootsaw and you'll be fine. They're the ones that come in a 2 pack that I buy.

Besides pulling the stool I've run into this lately.

Had one so tight could only get the spear on a spring in.
