I have a very odd one?

A commercial building on a slab. No kitchen just a W/C and 2 sinks
    No clean out “Old building”
Remove toilet snake line out 60-70’
    Can’t get past this spot.
The cutters ”all of them” get to this point and just won’t advance. Even bare cable with no cutter.
    No binding.
    Bringing nothing back.
    Just sit and spin.
Was using the K-60 even pulled out all section by hand no spinning to see it I was washing the clay off.

My thoughts are it has frozen but it didn’t get cold enough until after the problem occurred ?

    Any ideas ?

I am waiting on the customer to decide if they want to pay for jetting and a pumper truck to attempt jetting

if you put a sharpened cutter down does it come back dull? dull and flattened usually indicates a collapse while sharp/or less sharp is ice. how far below grade is the lateral?

... it was plumbed by Ray Charles and his helper Stevie Wonder

Any history on the job? Have you done the forward turbo yet? Any chance of a pulled gas line?

Someone could have use a combination or Tee backwards in a way that you're hitting the back side of it.

Example: Combination on it's side put in backwards with a cleanout in it.

Or you could be making a wrong turn out of a straight Tee.

        Guessing....

none of the cutter seem to have any wear or dulling to them

i have plenty of jetter nozzles to jet with just waiting on the owner to make up her mind

no history with this job. the building has been in the same family for over 40 years. and as usual they have never had any issues.
i would thing a gas line would hang up the cutter or somewhat bind the cutter? but this is one i hope i never find out.

Could also be a belly in the line and/or clog that froze just as you say.

Are you able to estimate where the 60'-70' would be?

Sounds like a running trap to me. Happens all the time in these old houses.

Have someone stand roughly where you think the cable is while you are running it. You might be able to hear the cable banging around on the inside of the buried cleanout.

I have had several frozen sewers, sometimes a slow dripping toilet or faucet will freeze in the sewer if conditions are just right. add some salt,if it works you will be the hero, for the cost of a bag of water softener salt, usually takes overnight.

                      There's always the Reverse Auger.
It's come through for me more than once.

I hate to say it, but if it is a really nasty root ball especially in 6" the K60 will do just what you are describing. Did you try a "reverse auger" or any type of auger?

                        Did you camera the line?

I had some weird frozen issues show up tuesday morning. How deep is the line?

camera the line without stirring up the sludge and you might see something, or at least find the location and distance comparisons.
