  • What I found out about the K-60

Rick called and wanted an update on my K-60

I've had it a week now and this is what I've learned so far.....

After putting 2 coats of wax on, it still gets dirty

The front rubber feet fall off just as fast as the K-50 feet did

No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it through a 4" clay running trap at 70 feet out with 7/8" cable. It kept going up. Usually not a problem but the top was covered by concrete sidewalk. The city dug it up and removed the trap. I have a trap leader now. Maybe better results next time with that.

I bought the A-61 tool kit. What is the difference between the T-101 straight auger and the T-125 retreiving auger? a pointy bent end? I'd rather have another spade cutter or a sewer mitt

I end up getting every main stoppage call that comes into our shop now. I somehow was able to avoid this before the K-60 purchase. I don't want to be the go-to sewer guy

My 15 year old K-50 has seen her last drain pipe but her harvested parts will live on in other machines. I, myself am not a organ donor but I believe it's good for others

The A-17 drum for the K-50 that holds the 5/16" fits perfectly on the K-60. All the hubbub about the K-60 here and NO ONE MENTIONED THIS BEFORE?!!!

Yea, it's total overkill but I don't have 1 inch of space on my truck for a K-39

    What have you learned?

I have learned you don't send a boy to do a man's job

I also learned if the trap had a wood plank on it, you would have gotten through it in 7 seconds

Rick is spewing all sorts of replies. He will turn his computer on and reply shortly.
    I love my plumber

    Welcome, Phoebe Jacqueline!

I've only known her a week. Our relationship isn't that intimate yet I'm taking it slow this time. Besides, I'm still smarting after the loss of my Suzy Sewer (k50)

a phone call would have saved the embarassment

I've had it a week now and this is what I've learned so far.....

            not much

After putting 2 coats of wax on, it still gets dirty

            it's not a surf board or a car. it's a tool

The front rubber feet fall off just as fast as the K-50 feet did

that's the problem, those are the rear feet

we are talking about the round crutch tip type feet

mine never have. try a little bit of glue or caulking

No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it through a 4" clay running trap at 70 feet out with 7/8" cable. It kept going up. Usually not a problem but the top was covered by concrete sidewalk. The city dug it up and removed the trap. I have a trap leader now. Maybe better results next time with that.

seeing that we don't have running traps. but i can picture if it had a c/o it's there for a reason. i think if you try to run in reverse when you hit the trap, it might cause the head to turn down and not up

by the way, i've mistakenly have gotten my 7/8'' cable and auger through a 2'' trap

I bought the A-61 tool kit. What is the difference between the T-101 straight auger and the T-125 retreiving auger? a pointy bent end? I'd rather have another spade cutter or a sewer mitt

the straight 101 is a tighter same diameter auger.

the 125 is a flared out auger designed to funnel the object into the center.

i never use the sewer mitts

but a t-111 spiral sawcutter is the bomb

I end up getting every main stoppage call that comes into our shop now. I somehow was able to avoid this before the K-60 purchase. I don't want to be the go-to sewer guy

why not, i'm the go to guy

My 15 year old K-50 has seen her last drain pipe but her harvested parts will live on in other machines. I, myself am not a organ donor but I believe it's good for others

The A-17 drum for the K-50 that holds the 5/16" fits perfectly on the K-60. All the hubbub about the K-60 here and NO ONE MENTIONED THIS BEFORE?!!!

as i've mentioned before, i don't use the drum adapters.

just make sure that you run the machine in reverse since your're running it from the back end

Yea, it's total overkill but I don't have 1 inch of space on my truck for a K-39

            What have you learned?
i don't know how you ever beat me in the board buster contest

i think adam pre-slit the board for you. he does carry that pocket knive for a reason

told you, you should have called. wait till allclear gets a run of this

            rick.

LOL! I guess its possible to mix up the front and back if one doesn't attach the REAR guide hose to tell which one is the front and which is the back.
