  • k-60 & general 7/8"ic cables

how far can i go with general 7/8"ic cables and still be able clear roots? assume bad root infestation. sharp cutters. i figure someone has ran a long ways for braggin rights, but that doesn't help. by the way, if we run enough cable to slow motor down that will have us on a first name basis with motor shop. thank you. breid

    i have a job that i regularly snake the 4'' c/o x 6'' main 165'.

i do this with 15' of c-10ic and then 150' of c-10 non inner core.

the general innercore cable weighs more with the inner core, but i don't feel it is a limiting factor because of this.

a straight run requires less torque than a run with multiple turns.

the k-60 is rated for 150' of 7/8'' and 125' of 5/8''. so it has more to do with the cable flex than the weight.

the most i have ran is 120'. 75' was General inncore cable and the rest was open wind.

Do you think 75' off innercore puts stress on the motor??

I run 150 FT. of general IC. All the time in the K 60 never a problem

thanks gt that was what i really wanted to know. what i was talking about on motor load was that if we load it enough to slow it down. we will ruin it in short order. low voltage will kill a motor in short order, also. heat is also the enemy of electrical wiring. thank you. breid
