  • K-60 grease killer

so yesterday i get a call from a contractor i do a lot of commercial work for.

his strip mall on the sunset strip has a plugged line affecting a chines take out and nail salon. no problem, i know the pipe serving that is bad at 25'-32' and will be getting dug up as soon as they can shut down for a day.

so i try the mighty k-60 and hit mud bottom of pipe is all rotted out.

as i go back outside and grab my other cutters, the chicken restaurant tells me he's also backed up. he's 6 stores over from my area. funny part is that the owner was only aware of the nail salon, not the entire mall.

turns out that the only thing not stopped up is 7/11. only clean out is on the sidewalk outside of 7/11 and it's dry

so there's a new subway with a grease interceptor that's oozing

problem is cars are parked on top of the lids and c/o. i walk into the chicken restaurant, pizza hut, dry cleaner, photo lab, sushi restaurant, no clean outs. 7/11 is fine and no c/o there either.

so mark calls while i'm thinking what i want to do

why not take the k-60 up the roof and snake a 2'' vent

original construction is all bathroom/ sinks and the rest of the vents are t/i work. so i carry my 90' of 7/8'' up the roof ladder and my k-60 and extension cord.

find a vent that appears to be a straight shot. no vent 90's.

push down about 14' and pull up grease and sludge. so now i put my special reverse auger on and snake out 90'. i go down and all the stores are draining and the outside sidewalk is flowing like crazy. store owners are praising me

    giving me drinks/ soda

pull back paper towels and grease.

going back this morning with the big jetter.

so the k-60's no jetter, but who needs a jetter when you have a k-60

    rick.

Sectional machines work great on the grease and sludge blockages. It gets that gunk on the move with them large open coils.

I am new to this site. It took about 1 min. to see that I will have a K-60 in the near future. Leave the monster drum on the truck for when I have to use it. Save my 52 yr. old back! Nice site!
