I like the machine would like to see these two things added. Variable speed for lower rpm's for the 5/8 cable. And it pull itself out when switched into reverse.

Variable speed would be a great addition and I suspect, not all that hard to do. It can be a bear pulling cable too but the mechanism to auto reverse the cable would add a lot of wight and bulk to the machine.
We use the K60 for probably 80% of the residential work we do because its light weight, compact and easy to move around and while it will handle larger jobs it is not IMO the ideal choice always. You really have to keep on top of things with larger cables and cutters spinning because the machine has a tendency to tip over if you aren't careful.

Re: Tell us your K-60 story

I have used drum machines my whole career. After buying a K-60 (reluctantly I might add) it is by far my machine of choice. It never stays at the shop unlike my drums. I have since purchased it's little brother, the K-50. Most plumbers around here only use drums and when they see it in my truck and ask me about it I am vague because I don't want my competition to know how great this machine is and how it saves me time and makes me $$.

I have never used drum machines. My first machine was a k50.When it was time to upgrade it was a no brainer k60 all the way..The versatility of that machine is awsome ..Def. worth it's weight in gold ..About a year ago I ran across a great deal on the 1500..Still looks like the picture..Haven't needed it yet

I started to use the K-60 a year or so ago.

This one only has 4 drains under its belt

For those that want self feeding cable. While running the cable in reverse and hold the cable on the edge of the pipe/cleanout. And it will feed into the pipe. On forward while holding the cable on the edge it will feed out of the pipe. Now I would love to see a compact version of the k1500 basicly a k60 on steroids to be able to spin 1 1/4 cable and the 7/8 cable. But with a footprint a little bigger than the current k60

I'm into that too. Put a 3/4 hp motor, some wheels and a pull handle. Keep it under 60# and it might just retire my timberwolf.

call it a rick 60 and ill buy you 1 too ron.
