  • k-60 Problem

So I went to use my k-60 today and the cable would hardly spin. When I pressed the clutch down harder the motor would freeze up and pop the reset button. Took it partial apart, motor spins freely, belt ok, clutch jaw ok, bearing next to clutch ok. Any thoughts? Also if anyone has disassembly / assembly instructions that would also be helpful.

    Re: k-60 Problem

ray, this problem requires a field trip for me to see it

but your issue is 1 of 2 things.

you checked just 1 bearing. there is a second bearing.

1 is inside the cogged pulley that should rotate freely and without play. part #3 on link

the second one is located in the adjusting cone. that's the one that is probably water logged. see part 13 on link.

of course a misaligned clutch would put a strain on the motor, but it should still run.

    my money's on the bearing.

the weekend is already booked for me. next week is better

remember the locktite to prevent the race from spinning.

I second the bearing ..Have had this issue a couple times..Seems the longer the machine sits without being used the more problems I have with it..I suggest at least 3 calls a day to keep everything running smooth..Ok 2 will do

So my k60 can freeze up if it sits?
Mine can sit for a month waiting to be used! I do WD40 it after every use will this be ok?

Charging less does not mean more call volume it just means you have to work harder to reach your goals.

best bet it to store it in the normal position. not on the end standing up. water can collect in the bearing and rust it up.
