  • Simpson 260-7 vs 260-8

Other than for that the 260 series 7 has been replaced by the series 8 what's the main difference in the two models of multimeters? I found one thing where I like the series 8 better but I wonder if maybe I missed some things that are different/better with the series 8. I see some "new in box" series 7 on eBay selling at nice prices and am tempted but if the series 8 is really better I'll save up for one. This is something you buy and keep for a good long time so I want to get it right. Are there any other 260s (current) that for most uses would be woth the extra money?

Please do not suggest that I buy a $29.95 junker one. I need quality.

Please see the 2 pictures. The left is a 260 series 7 and the right is a 260 series 8. Give both a careful looking over and you'll see one real nice change when the series 8 came out. I bet people may see other little changes besides the main one.
